Beyond Belief Unplugged!

*Yes, this all happened while I was in LA, over a week ago. What can I say? Shit happens!
Enjoy reading about my AMAZING experience during Beyond Belief Unplugged! While I would not go as far as saying TAH changed my life, it has helped me branch out and just enjoy life more through laughs and comedy.
So, after a VERY long couple of days, but successful days, it was time for. . .BEYOND BELIEF UNPLUGGED!! Beyond Belief Unplugged was offered through the Thrilling Adventure Hour Kickstarter campaign and once I knew for sure it was going to be the same weekend that I would be in LA, I took the plunge and pledged more. I would also like to throw in a congratulations to Thrilling Adventure Hour, Ben Blacker, Ben Acker, and all the Work Juice Players for making the Graphic Novel, Web-Series, and Concert Film goals!
Anyway! So I made it back down from Northern LA County to Meltdown Comics on Sunset Blvd. (Again, I am LOVING LA!!) I met up with some other TAH fans before heading into Meltdown where we checked in and hung around. We were let in around 2 and took our places. We had front row seats! Not that any of the seats would have been bad because the room was pretty small, but it was great being up in the front!
The far microphone was for Hal Lublin, Linda Cardellini, and Matt Gourley. The middle microphone was for Paul F. Tompkins. The far right microphone was for Paget Brewster.
This last lonely microphone that I could not fit in with the other was for Marc Evan Jackson, Molly Quinn, Lauren Pritchard, and John Ross Bowie. I had a great seat and hopefully I have not forgotten any of the amazing stars!
They had two shows to rerecord and before we knew it, the cast was being called on stage to start recording. Hal did his thing to the Intro to Beyond Belief and they started recording. The first recording had, of course, Paul F. Tompkins and Paget Brewster, as well as, Marc Evan Jackson, Molly Quinn, and Linda Cardellini. The fun part after each recording was hearing the cast joke around and redo some lines. They were an absolute hoot! We took a quick break for everyone to go feed the meters and then we were back for the second recording.
The second recording had special guests John Ross Bowie, Lauren Pritchard, and Matt Gourley. This segment was incredibly funny! The cast truly do make this show. They play off of one another, support one another, and just make the segments. What a privilege it was to get to see this! They ran a few more lines after that recording and then it was time to meet everyone!! We had been given scripts and all the cast sat down to sign them for us. Get ready for a photo dump!
Signed script by the cast, including Ben Acker and Ben Blacker (creators of TAH)!
Signed print by some of the cast. This is NOT my work!! The print was created by this girl here! I just met her at BB Unplugged, but I am so impressed with her stuff!
And now for pics with some of the WJ Players!!
The wonderful Ben Acker and Ben Blacker!
The amazing Hal Lublin! It was GREAT meeting Hal! We had exchanged a few tweets and he is just as cool in person as he is on twitter!
The fabulous Marc Evan Jackson aka Sparks Nevada, Marshal on Mars. We chatted about their visit to NASA JPL in Pasadena and hanging out with Bobak. It was a lot of fun to nerd out about NASA with him and John Ross Bowie chimed into the conversation as well! I was in space nerd heaven!
The outstanding Paul F. Tompkins! Poor him! He listened to me ramble on about my polygraph that morning! He is a great guy and I cannot wait to see him perform live again! He has his own podcast and they are outstanding and I highly recommend listening to them!
And last, but not least, the Fantastic Paget Brewster! I had heard nothing but great things about other TAH fans that have met here and I was blown away by how sweet and willing she was to stop, chat, and take pictures! I loved her back when she was on Criminal Minds and it was great seeing her in a totally different role. She is hilarious and her outlook on life is great! I have listened to some of her other podcast interviews and she is just an awesome person! I hope to chat again in the future! Moving on, now that I sound like a total creep.
I’m really not. Promise!
Every person I came into contact with at BB Unplugged was incredibly kind, welcoming, and friendly! I am so thankful I had this great chance to see it! Thank you to Thrilling Adventure Hour, Meltdown Comics, all the guest, and the Work Juice Players! It was a blast and I cannot wait until I can actually see a whole Thrilling Adventure Hour show! I could not have asked for a better ending to a promising trip to LA!
“Clink!”
