Instead Softcup Review!

**I was sent a month supply of Instead Softcup to review and up to $125 for a race registration. Even though I am being compensated for this review, all opinions are my own. 

 

I always enjoy products that make my life or certain aspects of my life easier, so when I saw that For The Love of The Run posted about doing an Instead Softcup review, I knew I wanted to give it a try. I have been using the DivaCup for almost a year now, during most of my monthly times, but still wanted to give Softcup a try. I had tried them a few times before, but quickly went back to using the same products. From the Instead Softcup website (softcup.com), Softcup is:

~A flexible cup, that is worn internally, around your cervix. It collects menstrual flow, instead of absorbing menstrual flow.

~You can wear Softcup for up to 12 hours

~Softcup is comfortable during swimming and sports

~Softcup is comfortable—you can’t even feel it once it’s inserted

~You can use one reusable softcup throughout entire cycle…saving you money and the environment

~Softcups have no wings, no strings . . . just freedom!

So, my thoughts? The Softcup definitely has a little bit of a learning curve. Personally, I had a little difficulty with this, but found when my flow was lighter I had no problems. I used it while I was at the gym and had ZERO issues! Once inserted, I did not feel a thing! Which is a GREAT feeling, because even with the DivaCup I occasionally feel something. 12 hours of protection is also AMAZING!! Not having to worry about changing anything for 12 hours?? Umm, can you say awesome?

I also enjoyed being able to just throw it away after one use. Yes, I know, we want to be environmental friendly, but being able to just throw it away and insert a new one is a bit less messy. While I am not a 100% convert, yet, I will still be using these when my flow is lighter or when traveling. The traveling and disposal method is great!! It was nice not worrying about washing/reinserting while traveling.
